Meet and Greet with Tāme Wairere Iti

Come meet Maori activist, artist, actor, and social worker Tト[e Iti with Toi and Te Iti. He will be at the centre to chat about a new documentary he is filming about language preservation and revival. The documentary's director will also be in attendance.

Tト[e Wairere Iti is a New Zealand Mト{ri activist, artist, actor and social worker. Of Ngト( Tナォhoe descent, Iti rose to prominence as a member of the protest group Ngト Tamatoa in 1970s Auckland, becoming a key figure of the Mト{ri protest movement and the Mト{ri renaissance. Since then, he has become a renowned activist for the rights of Mト{ri and the process of co-governance and decolonisation.
