º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ named 386 students to the Deans’ List for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

 

The Deans’ List honours full-time students in Arts and Social Work who achieved a grade point average of 3.70 or better on a minimum of 30 credit hours. 

 

At a reception celebrating the academic success of the students, President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nauman Farooqi recognized their hard work. 

 

“Earning a place on the Deans’ List is a significant accomplishment—it signals that you have reached a high standard of undergraduate academic achievement,” he said. 

 

“You have shown that you are on the right track, you are willing to do the work, and that the investment you are making in yourself is paying off.” 

 

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½dent Claude-Eric Poitras 

 

Claude-Eric Poitras, a second-year Psychology and Business and Social Entrepreneurship º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½dent, said this achievement is a recognition of the effort, dedication, and time he pours into his studies. 

 

“Being named to the Deans’ List means a lot to me, as it gives me a broader perspective on my academic achievements and the progress I have made throughout the year.”  

 

Poitras, who came to º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ from Grand Falls, New Brunswick, said his professors were a major factor in his success. 

 

“My professors are always willing to help. Even when the course material can be difficult, my professors find a way to make it understandable,” he said. 

 

“Being able to communicate easily with my professors about course material and what I can do in the future with the subjects I’m studying helps keep me motivated.” 

 

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½dent Sarah Burbine 

 

“I came to º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ to gain as much knowledge as I can. This academic achievement proves that I came here to learn and achieved my goal. It motivates me to keep going,” said second-year Psychology and Sociology º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½dent Sarah Burbine. 

 

Burbine, who is originally from St. Andrews, New Brunswick, noted that the close-knit º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ community has played an important role in her success. 

 

“I love the smaller class sizes at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½. With more opportunity to get to know my peers and professors, it’s made my time at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ much more meaningful,” she said. 

 

“Being able to speak with my professors when I need help and having upper-year students look out for me has meant a lot to me and helped me numerous times.”
